The Brandon Wheat Kings have signed their 2020 first-round bantam draft pick Quinn Mantei to his Standard Player Agreement. Playing for the Weyburn Whitecap Wings in the SBAAHL, Mantei tallied 20 goals and 30 assists in only 30 games from the blueline. Check out his DUBNetwork Scouting profile here. The Mantei signing leaves Kelowna Rockets eighth overall pick Andrew Cristall as the lone prospect yet to sign from the first round of the bantam draft. The Rockets, Everett Silvertips, and Portland Winterhawks are the only clubs yet to sign a prospect from this year’s draft.
Plouffe commits to University of Alberta
After coming full circle in his WHL career, Dylan Plouffe will be attending the University of Alberta to suit up for the Golden Bears in the fall.

Dylan Plouffe (307 GP, 32 G, 113 A with the Vancouver Giants and Medicine Hat Tigers from 2014-2020) will play his university hockey close to his hometown of Sherwood Park, Alberta as he has committed to the University of Alberta Golden Bears for the 2020-21 season.

Lethbridge Hurricanes general manager Peter Anholt has been named the WHL Executive of the Year for the 2019-20 season. The Hurricanes finished third in the Central Division with a 37-19-2-5 record.

Pavel Padakin (206 GP, 76 G, 71 A with the Calgary Hitmen and Regina Pats from 2012-2015) has signed on with HK Sochi for his second stint with the club. In his first stint with the club, he recorded 15 goals and 28 assists in 105 games, earning a spot in the KHL All-Star Game.

Former Pat Bob Gerrard passes away
The Regina Pats are saddened to learn of the passing of alumni Bob Gerrard. He played for the Pats in 1970-71.
