Warriors sign Yager
NEWS: 2020 1st round pick Brayden Yager has committed to the Warriors & WHL w/ the signing of a Standard Player Agreement.
Yager was selected 3rd overall at the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft. Last season w/ the Contacts he had 18-24-42pts in 44GP.

The streak of first-round picks signing WHL Education contracts continued on Friday with the Moose Jaw Warriors signing Brayden Yager. The Warriors selected Yager third overall, one pick behind his Saskatoon Contacts teammate Riley Heidt. Yager played 44 games last scoring 18 goals and 24 assists playing a year up.

The University of Saskatchewan Huskies are quickly putting together a pretty good recruiting class with Ty Prefontaine committing on Friday. Prefontaine played 255 games in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders, Calgary Hitmen, and Lethbridge Hurricanes from 2015-20. He joins Parker Gavlas and Jaxan Kaluski as part of this year’s recruiting class.

Brendan Mikkelson (226 GP, 16 G, 54 A with the Portland Winterhawks and Vancouver Giants from 2003-07) has signed with MODO Ornskoldsvik in Sweden for the 2020-21 season. Last season he played 28 games for Red Bull Salzburg in Austria scoring one goal and adding four assists.
