Silvertips sign prospect Van Herk

The Everett Silvertips announced on Wednesday that they have signed undrafted prospect Brady Van Herk to a Standard Player Agreement. Van Herk started this season with the North Island Silvertips U18 AAA team, collecting two assists in two games. Last season with the same team the 6-foot-2, 165-pound defenseman scored twice and added 12 assists over 40 games.

Popugayev traded in KHL

Nikita Popugayev (154GP, 47G, 76A with Moose Jaw and Prince George ’15-’18) has been traded from Dynamo Moskva to Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the KHL. Through 13 games with Dynamo Moskva, Popugayev has scored one goal and added two assists. He joins his fourth KHL team in four seasons.

Bouma joins IK Oskarshamn

Lance Bouma (230GP, 39G, 76A with Vancouver ’05-’10) has signed with IK Oskarshamn of the SHL for the rest of the season. The 30-year-old forward is coming off an AHL season where he posted 10 goals and 10 assists for the Ontario Reign. The 2008 third-round draft pick of the Calgary Flames will be playing his 11th season professionally. Bouma is a Memorial Cup champion with the Giants back in 2006-07.

Bartley signs with

Victor Bartley (336GP, 36G, 132A with Kamloops and Regina) has signed with Unia Oswiecim of Poland’s top professional league. The move comes following two seasons with Kunlun Red Star of the KHL. Despite not being drafted by an NHL club, Bartley has 121 games of experience in the world’s top professional league and a further 172 games at the AHL level.
