Daily Dose of the Dub: Tracey named CHL Player of the Week; Raiders sign prospect

Tracey gets nationwide honours

A day after winning WHL Player of the Week, Moose Jaw Warriors rookie forward Brayden Tracey was named CHL Player of the Week after posting 11 points (6G, 5A) in just four games last week. The 2019 NHL Draft prospect has 73 points (31G, 42A) in 59 games this season.

Raiders ink prospect

The Prince Albert Raiders signed 2002-born prospect Evan Herman to a Standard Player Agreement. The 16-year-old was drafted by the Raiders in the third round (64th overall) in 2017 after putting up 37 points (19G, 18G) in 27 games in bantam with Rink Hockey Academy. This season with RHA Prep, he has 26 points (13G, 13A) in 30 games this season.

Former WHLer called up

Former Regina Pats, Medicine Hat Tigers, and Moose Jaw Warriors forward Dryden Hunt has been recalled by the Florida Panthers from the AHL. The undrafted signee has 25 NHL games under his belt, collecting two assists. The native of Cranbrook, BC skated in 269 WHL games, amassing 249 points (117G, 132A), including a monster overage season where he put up 116 points (58G, 58A) in 72 games, earning himself an NHL contract.

Three Stars of the Night

1st Star: Red Deer’s Brandon Hagel had an impressive five point night, scoring twice and adding three assists in the Rebels’ 7-3 win over Moose Jaw.

2nd Star: Edmonton’s Andrew Fyten had two goals and two assists in an 11-1 win over Swift Current.

3rd Star: Saskatoon’s Ryan Hughes had two goals and two assists in a 6-4 win over Lethbridge.
