Blackhawks sign Teply to entry-level contract

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed Winnipeg ICE forward Michal Teply to an entry-level contract. The Blackhawks selected Teply in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Since Teply was drafted before joining the ICE he is eligible to play in the AHL next season even though he is only 18 years old. A fourth overall selection in last year’s CHL Import Draft, Teply had 29 goals and 34 assists in 53 games becoming one of the fastest rising players in the CHL last season. ICE fans will certainly be hoping he returns to the WHL next season.

WHL announces Business Award winners

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have been named the WHL’s Eastern Conference Winner of the 2020 Business Award. The WHL credits the Hurricanes creation of a Fan Experience Coordinator as key to winning this award.

In the Western Conference, the Seattle Thunderbirds are the winner of the 2020 Business Award. The league says the Thunderbirds have successfully unified support for the team and key stakeholders in the organization.

Hitmen name Three Stars Award Winner

The Calgary Hitmen have named Mark Kastelic the 2020 Winner of the Three Stars Award. In case you missed it yesterday, Kastelic is set to turn pro with the Ottawa Senators organization next season.
