The Spokane Chiefs have released forward Blake Swetlikoff from the active roster after he recorded two assists in 11 games this season. The Chiefs will maintain his WHL rights and he’s expected to report to the Regina Pat Canadians Midget AAA team in the SMAAAHL.
Donohoe’s CJHL rights traded
Vernon acquires CJHL rights to defenceman Hunter Donohoe (00) from Chilliwack for future considerations.
Donohoe is a third year #WHL veteran with 88 games in the league.

Hunter Donohoe (88 GP, 3 G, 6 A with the Red Deer Rebels and Seattle Thunderbirds) has been traded from the Chilliwack Chiefs to the Vernon Vipers in the BCHL after the Thunderbirds released him from the active roster earlier this season. In nine games with Seattle this season, he had one assist.

Vancouver Giants’ prospect Brendan Budy has signed his National Letter of Intent to attend the University of North Dakota. The Giants acquired Budy from the Red Deer Rebels earlier this year for defenseman Joel Sexsmith and were hopeful they would be able to get him signed to a WHL education contract but he ultimately decided to go the NCAA route.

Team WHL has secured a the CHL-Russia for The CHL with a “double shootout” victory over Russia on Thursday night. Kelowna Rockets forward Nolan Foote starred for the WHL with two goals in regulation and the shootout series winner while Medicine Hat Tigers forward Ryan Chyzowski also potted a goal. Russia would take the game 4-3 in a shootout, which left the series tied up at 3-3, requiring a second shootout to decide the series which the WHL won.
