Silvertips acquire Hendren from Giants

The Everett Silvertips have acquired defenseman Parker Hendren from the Vancouver Giants for a conditional draft pick in 2020 or 2021. A seventh-round pick of the Giants in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft, Hendren has played 36 games over two seasons with Vancouver recording a goal and an assist. He also played 16 games with the Regina Pat Canadians in the SMHL last year registering two goals and 17 assists.

Chiefs sign fourth-round pick 

The Spokane Chiefs have signed netminder Mason Beaupit to a WHL Player Agreement. The 2018 fourth-round WHL Bantam Draft pick played for the Valley West Giants in the BCMML where he led the league in appearances with 26 and posted a 3.32 GAA. He is one of three goaltenders competing for a spot on the Chiefs roster at training camp, joining Reece Klassen and Lukas Parik.

Hurricanes sign ’03 born defenseman 

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed defenseman Chase Pauls from their 50-man protected list to a WHL Player Agreement. After being undrafted in the WHL Bantam Draft, Pauls reported to the Warman Wildcats in the CFHL where he notched 10 goals and 24 assists in 32 games.

Blazers’ veterans battling injuries 

Kamloops Blazers’ veteran forward Ryley Appelt and veteran defenseman Jackson Caller were held out of Saturday’s 9-1 victory over the Victoria Royals due to injury. Our Jordan Bremner spoke to Blazers head coach Shaun Clouston yesterday and he says he expects both players back in the lineup by next weekend.

Ottenbreit signs with Americans

Turner Ottenbreit (284 GP, 24 G, 84 A A with the Saskatoon Blades and Seatle Thunderbirds) has signed with the ECHL’s Allen Americans. Last season, Ottenbreit played for the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies tallying 11 goals and 12 assists in 58 games.

Former Thunderbirds Equipment Manager joins NHL’s Dallas Stars

Former Seattle Thunderbirds equipment manager Trevor Heinzerling has joined the NHL’s Dallas Stars as an equipment assistant. Heinzerling joined the AHL’s Colorado Eagles last season after three seasons with the Thunderbirds.
