Price gets an extension in Victoria

Victoria Royals head coach Dan Price has been given a multi-year contract extension as the Royals have been quietly doing pretty good this year in the B.C. division. As of this writing, they have a 17-10-2 record through 28 games which has them in third place in the division. Price took over as head coach in the 2017-18 season after Dave Lowry departed the organization and the team is currently on pace for their 11th consecutive playoff appearance.

The final CHL Team of the Week before the holiday break has come out with Spokane’s Adam Beckman, Medicine Hat’s Cole Sillinger and Kelowna’s Kaedan Korczak cracking the lineup. Beckman was named the WHL Player of the Week recording six goals and three assists in three games. Sillinger topped Beckman in points but only tallied one goal with the bulk of his points coming in assists. On the blueline, Korczak suited up for four games and notched two goals and three assists.

- Winnipeg’s Jackson Leppard played in his 200th WHL game.

Ryan Aasman (166 GP, 1 G, 11 A with the Prince Albert Raiders, Seattle Thunderbirds, Swift Current Broncos, Medicine Hat Tigers and Edmonton Oil Kings from 2007-12) has been named the head coach of the AJHL’s Grande Prairie Storm. Aasman joined the Storm as an assistant coach at the beginning of this season.
