Rockets recall DeSouza, Quiring Wightman
The Rockets have called up affiliated players Jackson DeSouza, Steel Quiring and Dylan Wightman for tonight's game against the Portland Winterhawks.

The Kelowna Rockets recalled Jackson DeSouza, Steel Quiring, and Dylan Wightman from the BCMML’s Okanagan Rockets. Quiring is the most veteran of the three with 14 WHL games on his resume while DeSouza has played six games and Wightman has suited up for four WHL games.

The Regina Pats returned defenseman Daylan Weigel to the Saskatoon Blazers of the SMHL. He played one game with the Pats on this call-up registering no points. The move comes as defenseman Zach Wytinck (illness) and forward Robbie Holmes (upper-body) returned to the lineup on Friday.

Defenseman Wyatt McLeod returned from his upper-body injury on Friday night while Tyler Horstmann was a late scratch after looking like he could make his return to the lineup. He’s been out of the lineup since December 30th.

On the other side of the ice, Kyle Masters was back in the lineup after being out since October 25th. Cam Hausinger was out of the lineup presumably because of the knee-on-knee collision with Lethbridge Hurricanes defenseman Trevor Thurston.

Blake Allan was back in the lineup for Calgary after missing Saturday’s game with an upper-body injury. Kyle Olson made his debut for the Hitmen as he returned from a lower-body injury suffered while he was still with the Tri-City Americans.

Talyn Boyko (lower-body) and Connor Bouchard (upper-body) were both back in the lineup for the Tri-City Americans against the Everett Silvertips. Boyko hadn’t played since January 15th while Bouchard had been sidelined since January 17th.

Willie Desjardins (129 GP, 61 G, 79 A with the Lethbridge Broncos in the old WCHL from 1975-1977) has been inducted into the Canada West Hall of Fame for his time as a player with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. He is currently in his second stint as Head Coach and General Manager of the Medicine Hat Tigers.
