Daily Dose of The Dub: Raiders tie franchise best; Cozens with six points

Friday night the Prince Albert Raiders tied a franchise record, when they beat the Medicine Hat Tigers 7-3, for longest winning streak with 15 games. World Junior hopeful Brett Leason scored two goals and had two assists to continue his points streak. If you are not aware, he has had a point in every game this season.

The Kelowna Rockets have won five straight at home after a 3-1 win Friday night against division rivals Victoria Royals.

The Kamloops Blazers special teams were hot again Friday night. Their Powerplay went 3/4 and The Penalty Kill was 6/6. In their last four games, the PK has gone 19/20 bringing their season percentage up to 73.8% good for 17th in the league. They were dead last before the four game streak started.

Three Stars of The Night:

  1. Dylan Cozens (Lethbridge) had a six point night, three goals and three assists, in a 8-4 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings. The draft eligible forward now has 30 points on the season.
  2. Calen Addison (Lethbridge) found himself with a five assist game vs the Brandon Wheat Kings bringing his point total to 25 this season.
  3. Brett Leason (Prince Albert) Continues his streak of scoring in every game with four points vs Medicine Hat. He now has 51 points on the season tying his career total prior to this season.

Honourable mentions:

Nick Henry picked up a hat-trick on the road in a losing effort vs Prince George. Henry now has 15 goals on the season. Kamloops Blazers Defenceman Quinn Schmiemann scored the first goal of his young career. Regining WHL player of the week Tristan Lanigan scored twice, including the overtime winner and added an assist in the Moose Jaw Warriors 4-3 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings. Cameron Hausinger scored twice in a losing effort against the Red Deer Rebels. Mark Kastelic scored twice, leading the Calgary Hitmen over the Seattle Thunderbirds, Luke Coleman added two empty net goals late.

Troubling Moment:
