Raiders sign Gislason 

The Prince Albert Raiders have signed 2003-born defenseman Tayem Gislason from the Rink Hockey Academy Midget Prep team in the CSSHL. In 24 games this season, he’s put up four goals and 10 assists.

Pats recall Taylor, release Armstrong, Berge, Paulhus from the active roster

The Regina Pats recalled defenseman Marcus Taylor from the CSSHL’s Burnaby Winter Club. He’s played 15 games this year and has a goal and three assists.

The club also released Parker Berge to the CSSHL’s Northern Alberta X-Treme Prep and Easton Armstrong to the Los Angeles Jr. Kings of the T1EHL. Both players have suited up for two games with the Pats this season.

In a separate announcement, the club also announced Josh Paulhus has been released from the active roster after he scored one goal in three games.

Millar named to Program of Excellence Management Group

Moose Jaw Warriors General Manager Alan Millar has been named to the Program of Excellence management group with Hockey Canada. Millar will oversee the U-20 Program for Hockey Canada after two seasons overseeing the U-18 program. Under his watch, Canada’s Summer Under-18 team has won a gold and silver medal.

Jarvis named WHL Player of the Week

Portland Winterhawks forward Seth Jarvis has been named the WHL Player of the Week after potting four goals and five assists over two games last week.

Gauthier named WHL Goalie of the Week

Prince George’s Taylor Gauthier after splitting the weekend against the Kamloops Blazers but posting a 1.50 GAA and .963 save percentage over two games.

Weise plays in 500th NHL game

Dale Weise (173 GP, 51 G, 61 A with the Swift Current Broncos from 2005-08) played in his 500th NHL game on Monday night. After being drafted in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers, Weise has also had stops with the Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, and Philadelphia Flyers.

B.C. Hockey Hall of Fame announces class of 2020

This year’s class of inductees to the 2020 BC Hockey Hall of Fame will include Eric Brewer (168 GP, 14 G, 62 A with the Prince George Cougars from 1995-98) and the 2002 Memorial Cup Champion Kootenay ICE led by Duncan MilroyTomas Plihal and Marek Svatos with B.J. Boxma and Bryan Bridges splitting time between the pipes.

Sagat signs new contract in Czech Republic

Martin Sagat (129 GP, 28 G, 78 with the Kootenay ICE from 2003-05) has earned himself a contract with Pirati Chomutov for the rest of this season after a successful tryout. Earlier this season he played five games for Sparta Prague and recorded one assist.
