Oil Kings release Schaufler, Seppala

The Edmonton Oil Kings announced that defenseman Loeden Schaufler and Jesse Seppala have been released from their contracts. Schaufler had three goals and one assist in 39 games last season with Edmonton while Seppala had a goal in 17 games.

Cougars sign Dumanski

The Prince George Cougars have now signed their top four picks from this year’s Bantam Draft with the signing of Bauer Dumanski. He posted 16 goals and 17 assists in 30 games with the Humboldt Broncos Bantam AA Broncos, Check out his DUBNetwork Scouting Profile here. 

Rebels sign Fabrizi

Raiders sign Loedyk

The Prince Albert Raiders signed 2020 second-round pick Hayden Loedwyk to his WHL Education Contract. Loedwyk led his hometown Red Deer Rebels Bantam AAA in points with 12 goals and 21 assists in 31 games. Check out his DUBNetwork Scouting Profile here. 

Broncos sign Gould

The Swift Current Broncos signed 2020 second-round pick Rylan Gould to his WHL Education Contract. Gould scored 32 goals and added 54 assists in 36 games for the Winnipeg Monarchs Bantam AAA. Those numbers placed him fourth in WBAAAHL scoring.

Tigers sign Smith

The Medicine Hat Tigers signed 51st overall pick Shane Smith to his WHL Education Contract. Playing for the Edge School in the CSSBHl, Smith posted a decent 23 goals and 3 assists Check out his DUBNetwork Scouting Profile here.

ICE sign Fraser

The Winnipeg ICE signed 2005-born prospect Ty Fraser to his WHL Education Contract. The fifth-round pick of the ICE had 15 goals and 17 assists in 28 games with the Lethbridge Golden Hawks Bantam AAA.

Kennedy wins WHL Governor Award

The WHL named Sheldon Kennedy the winner of this year’s Governor’s Award. The award is given annually to an individual who helps grow and develop the league.

Hurricanes win WHL Business Award

The Lethbridge Hurricanes are this year’s winner of the WHL’s Business Award. The league credits the hiring of a fan experience coordinator as one of the reasons for winning this award.

Buenaventura commits to Blues

Ethan Buenaventura, a fourth-round pick of the Calgary Hitmen in 2019 has committed to join the Winnipeg Blues of the MJHL for the 2020-21 season.

Kings sign 10th-round pick Roloson

The Powell River Kings have received a commitment from defenseman Ross Roloson for the 2020-21 season. The 10th round pick of the Victoria Royals in 2018 registered four goals and 30 assists in 35 games with the Northern Alberta X-treme Prep in 2019-20.

Condors sign Stukel

The Bakersfield Condors have signed Jakob Stukel (265 GP, 103 G, 94 A with the Vancouver Giants and Calgary Hitmen from 2012-18 to a one-year contract. Last season he played 36 games for Bakersfield tallying six goals and four assists.

Yelizarov signs extension with Sochi

Anatoli Yelizarov (124 GP, 9 G, 12 A with the Edmonton Oil Kings from 2015-17) has signed a one-year extension with Sochi in the KHL. He played 12 games with the club in 2019-20, going pointless.

Proft staying in Germany for one more year

Carter Proft (196 GP, 25 G, 19 A with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Spokane Chiefs from 2010-14) has signed a one-year contract with Lowen Frankfurt. Last season he had eight goals and 11 asists in 32 games for the German-based team.
