The Edmonton Oil Kings are off to the second round after a 4-3 overtime win over Medicine Hat in Game 6 to take the series four games to two. It’s the first time since the 2014 Memorial Cup season they have made it past the first round of the WHL Playoffs. Also this season marked their first playoff berth since 2015/16 they are in the postseason. The Oil Kings will play the winner of the Lethbridge/Calgary series that will end on Tuesday for Game 7.

Kamloops Blazers prospect Logan Stankoven scored his first WHL in a 6-3 Game 5 loss to Victoria. The 2018 fourth overall pick had a monster season with the Thompson Blazers of the BCMML, recording 103 points (49G, 54A) in just 38 games. He appeared in seven regular season games with Kamloops, recording an assist, as well as a goal and an assist in five playoff games.
Blazers add goalie
Blazers adding G @RayceRamsay for some experience. He’ll arrive today to join for the remainder of the playoffs. His season with the @HumboldtBroncos ended Tuesday.

The Kamloops Blazers have added goaltender Rayce Ramsay to the roster as the team’s third goalie for the remainder of the playoffs. The 2001-born spent this past season with the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL where he went 16-7-1-1 with a 2.73 GAA and a .923 save percentage in 27 games, also appearing in seven playoff games with a 3-2-2-0 record go to with a 2.71 GAA and a .925 save percentage. The Saskatoon native has gotten into two games with the Blazers this season, going 0-1-0-0 with a 1.99 GAA and a .931 save percentage.

1st Star: Lethbridge’s Jake Leschyshyn had a goal and three assists as the Hurricanes forced a Game 7 with a 7-6 overtime win.
2nd Star: Lethbridge’s Calen Addison also had a goal and three assist in the Game 6 win.
3rd Star: Edmonton’s Vince Loschiavo scored the series clinching goal in overtime to send the Oil Kings to the second round.

Medicine Hat’s James Hamblin had two goals in the Tigers’ final game of the season….Lethbridge’s Taylor Ross scored the overtime winner to force Game 7 and added an assist….
