DubNetwork’s Second Star of the Month for November, James Hamblin posted an impressive 24 points (11 G, 13 A) with the Medicine Hat Tigers in just 12 games this month. He recorded at least one point in 75% of those games and had eight multi-point efforts.

Portland Winterhawks goaltender Joel Hofer has been named the WHL’s Goaltender of the Month a day after being invited to Hockey Canada’s Training Camp for the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championship. His 8-2-1-0 record, 1.75 GAA and 0.944 save percentage with one shutout as the Winterhawks in a tie with Everett for first in the U.S. Division.

Spokane Chiefs forward Bear Hughes has been named the WHL Rookie of the Month for November. A 2020 NHL Draft Eligible prospect, Hughes was a point-per-game player in November with five goals and seven assists in 12 games.

Victoria Royals import Phillip Schultz has been named to Denmark’s selection camp roster for the 2020 World Junior Division 1A Championship in Belarus. Schultz is in his second season in the WHL and has five goals and three assists in 17 games.

The Regina Pats have released goaltender Danton Belluk from the active roster. He’s played seven games with the Pats this year and has a 4.13 GAA and .846 save percentage. He’s expected to join the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL.

WHL Player of the Week Cole Reinhardt and WHL Goalie of the Week Roman Basran have both been named to the CHL Team of the Week. Reinhardt had eight points in two games and we here at DubNetwork named him the First Star of the Month for November. Basran posted a 0.96 GAA and .958 save percentage in two games with a 1-0-0-1 record.

With December 1’s deadline to sign in the NHL come and gone, Julius Honka (16 G, 60 A in 62 games with the Swift Current Broncos in 2013-14) has signed with JYP Jyvaskyla for the rest of this season. In 15 games so far, he has three goals and three assists.

Seattle’s Cade McNelly could be hearing from the WHL after he was given a five minute major and game misconduct for this hit on Spokane’s Filip Kral. If he faces supplemental discipline, it will be the fifth time he has been suspended in his WHL career.
