Mark Kastelic was drafted in the fourth round, 125th overall by the Ottawa Senators at the 2019 NHL Draft. Kastelic is coming off a season where he scored 38 goals and added 30 assists, good for 22nd in WHL scoring. The deal is for 3-years at a cap hit of $925,000. As a 1999 birth year, Kastelic is ineligible to return to the Hitmen next season.

Following his WHL graduation, Riley McKay (243 GP, 38G, 49A with Spokane Chiefs and Saskatoon Blades) signed an AHL contract with the Rockford IceHogs. The team plays in the Central Division of the American Hockey League. The Swan Lake, Manitoba native also had 517 penalty minutes over his career.

2002-born rookie Adam Kydd was named the Hitmen’s Scholastic Player of the Year. Kydd had a 91% average as he played in 53 games for the Hitmen this season. He scored six times and added six assists as the second-highest scoring rookie on the team.

Cole Sillinger and Dru Krebs are this years’ co-winners of the Medicine Hat Tigers Scholastic Player of the Year Award. Sillinger played 48 games this season and registered 22 goals to go with 31 assists. Krebs played 55 games in his first WHL season and scored three goals to go with 10 assists.

As the Eastern Conference representative for the WHL Scholastic Player of the Year, Jakob Brook maintained an average of 93.5 in his core school subjects. He did this while playing 46 games, scoring four goals and adding 10 assists.
As the Western Conference representative, Dylan Garand was helping lead the Kamloops Blazers to a division title before the season was cut short. He played in 42 games, going 28-10-2-1 with a 2.21 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. He maintained a 93 average in core classes and an overall 96.5 average.

The fifth-round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, Ryan McCleary signed following a good season in the SMHL with the Swift Current Legionnaires. The defenseman played in 44 games and scored five times and also added 18 assists.
Dvorak signs with Bobri Valasske Mezririci of Czech Second League
Petr Dvořák (Regina, 2002-2003) signed one-year contract extension with Bobři Valašské Meziříčí (Czech Republic, 2. Liga). 31 GP, 16+20, team captain, club sports manager (effectively the general manager).

Petr Dvorak signed on for a fifth straight season with Bobri Valasske Mezririci. The former Regina Pat played 64 games in the WHL in the 2002-03 season and registered 16 goals and 23 assists.
