ICE bring in Green on Coaching Staff

The Winnipeg ICE have filled out their coaching staff for the 2019/20 season as Josh Green (282 GP, 142 G, 136 A with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Swift Current Broncos and Portland Winterhawks) will be joining the organization. Green spent last season as an assistant coach of the MJHL’s Winnipeg Blues. He’ll join Head Coach James Patrick and Associate Coach Jon Klemm who are moving with the ICE from Kootenay to Winnipeg.
The ICE also announced some more additions to their hockey staff which includes:

- Jon Cara (113 GP, 6 G, 9 A with the Lethbridge Hurricanes) (Skating and Skills Coach)
- Ryan Cyr (155 GP with the Seattle Thunderbirds, Lethbridge Hurricanes and Saskatoon Blades) (Director, Goalie Development)
- Dan Ferguson (Goalie Coach)
- Doctor Jeff Leiter (Director of Sports Science and Performance)
- Darris Hardern (Athletic Therapist, Strength and Conditioning Coach)
- Doctor Adrienne Leslie-Toogood (Director, Mental Performance)
- Henry Dueck (Team Chaplain)
- Raylin Kirsch (Education Advisor)
- Sherryann Clark (Education Advisor)
- Ryan Guenter (Scout, spent last 10 seasons with Chilliwack Bruins/Victoria Royals organization)

Canada won its 11th straight game at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup with a commanding 8-0 win over Switzerland on Tuesday. Vancouver Giants forward Justin Sourdif was the lone WHL player to record a goal in the win while Portland Winterhawks forward Seth Jarvis picked up a secondary assist on the Canadians’ second goal.

Fresh off a 6-0 loss to Russia on Monday, the USA rebounded with a 4-3 OT victory over Slovakia. Portland Winterhawks forward Cross Hanas helped set up the tying goal with a secondary assist to send the game into overtime for the U.S.

Swift Current Broncos 2019 Import Draft Pick Kasper Puutio recorded an assist on Finland’s fourth goal for his first point of the tournament as Finland posted a 5-1 victory over the host Czech Republic.
Edmundson awarded one year contract in arbitration

Joel Edmundson (190 GP, 15 G, 53 A with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Kamloops Blazers) has been awarded a one-year contract in salary arbitration with the St. Louis Blues. Last year Edmundson had two goals and nine assists in 64 games as the Blues took home the Stanley Cup.

Branden Troock (144 GP, 45 G, 56 A with the Seattle Thunderbirds) has signed with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye for the 2019-20 season. A former fifth-round pick of the Dallas Stars, Troock split last season between the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators and Maine Mariners posting 10 goals and 11 assists in 27 games.
