The Lethbridge Hurricanes have acquired overage defenseman Mitchell Prowse, an eighth-round pick in 2022, and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2021 from the Victoria Royals for Nick Dorrington, a seventh-round pick in 2020 and a fourth-round pick in 2021.
This move leaves the Hurricanes with four overagers for next season, in Prowse, Dino Kambeitz, Oliver Okuliar and Calen Addison. Addison is signed by Minnesota so likely won’t be back, meaning the Hurricanes won’t have to make any additional moves to get down to three overagers for the 2020-21 season.
Over in Victoria, the team has nine overagers in Brandon Cutler, Kaid Oliver, Phillip Schultz, Carson Miller, Sean Gulka, Matthew Smith, Jacob Herauf, Ty Ettinger and Adam Evanoff which means they will have plenty of work left to do to get down to three overager limit this season.
