After going unsigned by the Ottawa Senators, who drafted him in the sixth round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Jordan Hollett has decided that he won’t be returning to the Medicine Hat Tigers for his final year of junior eligibility, instead electing to focus on his academics. Hollett had played 115 games in the WHL with the Regina Pats and Medicine Hat Tigers.

It appears Alec Zawatsky won’t be returning to the Moose Jaw Warriors for the 2019-20 season as he’s listed to attend camp with the QMJHL’s Drummondville Voltigeurs. The Winfield, B.C. native has played 102 games with the Saskatoon Blades, Swift Current Broncos and Moose Jaw Warriors and has recorded 17 goals and 19 assists. He is entering his last season of junior eligibility.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have acquired 2000-born forward Dino Kambeitz and a fourth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft from the Victoria Royals for 2001-born defenseman Nolan Jones. Kambeitz has 138 regular-season games under his belt and has put up 20 goals and 23 assists with 102 penalty minutes, all coming with the Victoria Royals. Jones has played 61 games with Lethbridge and has registered two goals and 11 assists with 49 penalty minutes.

The Everett Silvertips have announced the details of their training camp which will take place from August 22nd to 25th. The camp will feature 12 scrimmages, as well as a prospects game and a Green vs. Grey game.

The Selkirk Steelers of the MJHL have acquired Hunter Torzsok‘s (37 GP, 1 G, 3 A with the Vancouver Giants) Junior A playing rights from the BCHL’s Nanaimo Clippers. In 36 games with Nanaimo, he had six goals and two assists. The deal sent goaltender Zach Bennett to Nanaimo, he is an unsigned 2015 seventh-round draft pick of the Everett Silvertips.

The Saskatoon Blades have hired Michael Morrissey as the team’s communications manager. Morrissey comes to Saskatoon from his last role as the WHL’s Video Coordinator. The Blades also announced the hiring of Account Executive Branahan Jones.

BC Hockey is partnering with the Prince George Cougars to host a season kick-off camp on September 3rd at the Elksentre in Prince George. The camp is open to players aged 6-13 and will feature scrimmages as well as on and off-ice training.

King commits to University of Lethbridge

George King (23 GP, 5 G, 1 A with the Regina Pats and Prince Albert Raiders) has committed to the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns after graduating from the junior hockey ranks. King split last season between the MJHL’s Dauphin Kings and the SJHL’s Melfort Mustangs totaling 16 goals and 25 assists in 37 games.
