Hein was originally drafted by Swift Current in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft (3rd round, 57th overall) before being a part of the blockbuster deal that sent Matteo Gennaro and Beck Malenstyn to the Broncos. In 14 midget games, he holds a 2.75 GAA and a .900 SV%.

Portland Winterhawks captain Cody Glass scored Canada’s only goal in their 2-1 loss to Russia. The Golden Knights prospect ends the round robin with six points in four games going into their quarter final match up against Finland.

Troubling Moments

Thunderbirds defenseman Cade McNelly received a five minute major and a game misconduct for cross checking for this incident against Portland.

Another unfortunate incident coming from Seattle, with a knee on knee hit from the Thunderbirds center Matthew Wedman which he received a five minute major and a game misconduct as well in the same game. The league will certainly look at both incidents and will decide on proper supplemental discipline.
