Dan Hamhuis announces retirement from hockey

Following a career that spanned 16 seasons, Dan Hamhuis (247GP, 34G, 122A with Prince George) has announced his retirement from hockey. Hamhuis played for three different NHL teams including, Nashville, Vancouver, and Dallas. He has won two world championships, an Olympic gold medal, two IIHF World Junior silver medals as well as a bronze. The Smithers, Bc native remains a part-owner of the Prince George Cougars franchise.

Pats sign Wotton

At the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, the Regina Pats selected Colby Wotton in the seventh round, 136th overall. Since then Wotton has spent two seasons with the Yellowhead Chiefs U18 team in Manitoba. The Foxwarren, MB forward scored 19 goals and added 19 assists in 45 games in the Manitoba AAA U18 league.

Dorsey among University of Windsor recruits

Matt Dorsey (38GP, 3G, 3A with Tri-City and Calgary) has joined the 2020-21 recruiting class of the University of Windsor in Ontario.

Vantuch resigns with Eispiraten Crimmitschau of the DEL2

Lukas Vantuch (126GP, 10G, 30A with Calgary and Lethbridge) has signed for a second season with Eispiraten Crimmitschau of the DEL2, Germany’s second-tier professional hockey league. Last season in 32 games he scored four goals and added 11 assists. Vantuch is a former 2005 NHL Draft sixth-round selection of the Boston Bruins
