Vancouver Giants ink Brenden Pentecost

At the 2018 WHL draft, the Giants selected Pentecost with the 126th pick (6th round). Following his selection, he attended the Delta Hockey Academy splitting time between the Elite 15s and the prep team. Through 24 games, the defenseman posted five goals and seven assists. The 2003-born Surrey, BC native is listed at 6-foot-1, 161 pounds and is the fifth signee of the 2018 draft class for the Giants.

WHL Alumni Duda signs overseas

As reported above, Radek Duda has signed in the Czech Republic for one season. He returns to the Czech2 league following a season split between Pirati Chomutov (Czech Extraliga) and Benatky nad Jizerou (Czech2 League). Last season with Benatky nad Jizerou, Duda scored three goals and added three assists in 10 games. Duda is a former Regina Pat and Lethbridge Hurricane, playing in 134 games where he scored 66 goals and added 95 assists.

Royals players throw out first pitch at Harbour Cats game

With the Victoria HarbourCats opening their West Coast League final, the team invited Royals forwards Carson Miller and Kaid Oliver to throw out the first pitch. This comes just before the Royals open training camp on Vancouver Island. The team has not yet publically announced the details of the camp but it is expected that announcement will come soon.
