Daily Dose of the Dub: Giants sign Little, Pats reach broadcast agreement

Giants sign 2002-born Little 

The Vancouver Giants have signed 2002-born John Little to a WHL Player Agreement. A 2017 third round WHL Bantam Draft pick, the Parksville, B.C. native played for the BCHL’s Salmon Arm Silverbacks last season. He saw action in 53 games for the Silverbacks, posting 10 goals and 16 assists. As a November birthday, Little will be eligible for the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, unlike most 2002-born players. He is the seventh member of the Giants 2017 Bantam Draft Class to sign with the organization.

Pats, Harvard Broadcasting reach multi-year broadcast agreement 

The Regina Pats have reached a multi-year broadcast agreement with Harvard Broadcasting which will see all 68 Pats regular-season games heard on 620 CKRM which has been the home of the Pats since 1995. Phil Andrews will return as the Pats’ play-by-play broadcaster for his ninth consecutive season. He will be joined in the broadcast booth by Jared Dumba (64 GP, 7 G, 13 A with the Saskatoon Blades), who is entering his seventh year with the team, and Al Dumba (144 GP, 71 G, 93 A with the Regina Pats) who has spent 21 years as a broadcaster with the team. Prior to that, he served on the Pats coaching staff from 1991-1994.

Valimaki tears ACL in off-season training 

Juuso Valimaki (159 GP, 40 G, 98 A with the Tri-City Americans) has torn his ACL in an off-season training incident and will be out indefinitely. The 20-year-old defenseman had been preparing for his first full season with the Calgary Flames after playing 24 games last year with a goal and two assists.
