Daily Dose of the DUB: Giants sign Associate Coach, Alumni signings and more

 

Giant sign McCambridge as Associate Coach

Former WHL player Keith McCambridge (282GP, 6G, 33A with Swift Current and Kamloops ’91-’95) has been signed by the Vancouver Giants as an Associate Coach. McCambridge twice played in the Memorial Cup, once each with Swift Current and Kamloops. He won the CHL Championship with the Blazers in 1994-95. Most recently McCambridge was the Head Coach of the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL from 2017-2019. He has also coached two other AHL teams and the ECHL’s Alaska Aces.

McMillan signs in KHL

Brandon McMillan (251GP, 56G, 113A with Kelowna ’06-’10) has signed with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the KHL. McMillan was a member of the 2008-09 Rockets team that went to the Memorial Cup after winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup. A third-round selection of the Anaheim Ducks, McMillan went on to play 171 NHL games with Anaheim, Arizona, and Vancouver. He will play for his fifth KHL team in five seasons.

Fafrak time with HC 05 Banska Bystrica comes to an end

Milos Fafrak (66GP, 9G, 10A with Spokane ’17-’18) had his cooperation with HC 05 Banska Bystrica ended by the team following six games. Fafrak scored a goal and added an assist through the six games. It is unknown at this time what his next destination may be.

Lipsbergs signs with AplsHL team

Roberts Lipsbergs (165GP, 79G, 67A with Seattle ’12-’15) has signed with EC Bregenzerwald of the AplsHL in Europe. This signing follows four seasons with Dinamo Riga of the KHL where Lipsbergs scored seven goals and added 17 assists.
