Petrovic traded to Edmonton
FLA trades Alex Petrovic to EDM for Chris Wideman and a draft pick.

-The defenseman who played for the Red Deer Rebels from 2007-2011 in 270 games has been traded from the Florida Panthers to the Edmonton Oilers for fellow d-man Chris Wideman and a third round pick.
Petrovic, who is from Edmonton, was taken in the second round of the 2010 NHL Draft out of Red Deer by Florida.

- Nolan Kneen (Saskatoon) – The right-handed blue liner contiues to excel in Saskatoon. In the 22 games sine being acquired from the Kamloops Blazers he has 20 points. On Sunday he had a goal and three assists in a 9-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos.
- Jack McNaughton (Calgary) – For the second time in his rookie WHL season, he recorded a shutout. This time he turned away all 25 Vancouver Giants shots in a 4-0 Calgary win.
- Dean McNabb (Regina) – The Pats netminder turned away 45-of-46 shots and Regina edged Prince Albert 2-1. The loss was the first at home for the Raiders in the 2018-19 season.

–Justin Almeida had two goals and the Moose Jaw Warriors ousted the Brandon Wheat Kings 6-2… The Wheaties lost all three games they have played since the Christmas break ended – all to East Division opponents… Ryan Jevne had a goal and an assist and then netted the shootout winner as the Medicine Hat Tigers edged the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-4… Trey Fix-Wolansky had two goals and an assist and the Edmonton Oil Kings slipped by the Red Deer Rebels 5-4… Red Deer had beaten them in the shootout in Red Deer the night before… Dylan Garand stopped 35-of-36 shots in a 2-1 Kamloops win over Prince George.
