Dach assigned to Rockford on a conditioning stint

Kirby Dach has been assigned to the Rockford IceHogs on a conditioning stint after being injured in Chicago Blackhawks training camp. He made his pro debut on Sunday when the IceHogs played the Grand Rapids Griffins, registering two shots on goal. Dach can spend a maximum of 14 days with the IceHogs before the Blackhawks have to decide to call him up to their roster or send him back to the Saskatoon Blades.

Broncos sign Ostir to WHL Education Contract 

The Swift Current Broncos have signed 1999-born forward Hayden Ostir to a WHL Education Contract. Ostir last played for the Medicine Hat Tigers recording 11 goals and 11 assists in 49 games last season. He’s played a total of 195 WHL games with Medicine Hat and the Spokane Chiefs and has 29 goals and 41 assists to his name. He was not in the lineup for the Broncos 6-5 shootout loss to the Winnipeg ICE on Saturday. To make room for Ostir, the Broncos had to place 1999-born Ethan O’Rourke on overage waivers. In six games this season, O’Rourke had a goal and an assist.

Goncalves returns to Silvertips lineup 

Everett Silvertips forward Gage Goncalves made his return to the lineup tonight after missing the last three games with an upper-body injury. He scored the overtime winner as the Silvertips beat the Seattle Thunderbirds 1-0.

Sedov back in Pats lineup 

Nikita Sedov made his return to the Regina Pats lineup on Sunday for just his fourth game of the season. He’s been out since leaving September 27th’s game against the Prince Albert Raiders with an upper-body injury.

Milestones 

  • Lethbridge Hurricanes defenseman Ty Prefontaine played in his 200th WHL game.
  • Prince Albert Raiders defenseman Nolan Allan recorded his first WHL goal.
  • Vancouver Giants forward Zack Ostapchuk scored his first WHL goal.

Tywarnski scores first NHL Goal 

Carsen Twarynski (257 GP, 88 G, 94 A with the Calgary Hitmen and Kelowna Rockets) recorded his first NHL goal but his Philadelphia Flyers lost to the Vancouver Canucks in a shootout.

Tuuola records first AHL points 

Eetu Tuuola (62 GP, 18 G, 13 A with the Everett Silvertips) tallied a goal and an assist for his first AHL points as the Stockton Heat beat the San Diego Gulls 5-3.

Outhouse plays his first pro game

Griffen Outhouse (196 GP with the Victoria Royals) made his professional debut for the Jacksonville IceMen of the ECHL making 32 saves on 36 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss.

Troubling Moments 

Calgary Hitmen forward Adam Kydd could be looking at a suspension after hitting Edmonton Oil Kings defenseman Jacson Alexander in the head tonight.

Kamloops Blazers forward Ryley Appelt was also assessed a five-minute major for cross-checking Kelowna Rockets forward Trevor Wong into the boards tonight.

Three Stars of the Night

First Star: Dustin Wolf made 35 saves in a 1-0 shutout of the Seattle Thunderbirds. That’s his second shutout of the season as he tries to catch Carter Hart for the WHL shutout record.

Second Star: Brayden Tracey had a goal and three assists in an 8-4 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders

Third Star: Edmonton Oil King Carter Souch had a hat-trick in a 6-4 win against the Calgary Hitmen

Honourable Mention:

Kamloops Blazers defenseman Max Martin, Medicine Hat Tigers Daniel Baker and Caleb Willms all had two-goal games.
