Chiefs acquire Chudley from ICE for Ladyman

The Spokane Chiefs have acquired defenseman Jordan Chudley and a fifth-round pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft from the Winnipeg ICE for defenseman Mike Ladyman and a fifth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft. Chudley is a 2001-born defenseman from Souris, Manitoba who has played 34 games with the Kootenay ICE split over two seasons in which he posted two assists. Ladyman is also a 2001-born defenseman from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He has 22 games of WHL experience with the Chiefs recording two assists.

Deadmarsh back with Chiefs for 2019-20 season

The Spokane Chiefs also announced that assistant coach Adam Deadmarsh (220 GP, 134 G, 142 A with the Portland Winterhawks) will be returning to the team for the 2019-20 season, which will be his third with the Chiefs. Prior to joining Spokane, Deadmarsh played nine seasons in the NHL with the Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche and Los Angeles Kings. He also spent four seasons as a coach with the Colorado Avalanche.

Hockey Canada wraps up U-17 Development Camp 

Hockey Canada wrapped up their U-17 development camp on Friday with three more games of action. Kai Uchacz (Seattle Thunderbirds), Matthew Savoie (Winnipeg ICE), Nolan Bentham (Victoria Royals), Zack Ostapchuk (Vancouver Giants), Trevor Wong (Kelowna Rockets), Dylan Guenther (Edmonton Oil Kings), and Conner Roulette (Seattle Thunderbirds) all scored at the camp.

Turgeon re-signs with Detroit 

Dominic Turgeon (259 GP, 67 G, 85 A with the Portland Winterhawks) has signed a one-year contract extension with the Detroit Red Wings. Turgeon has played nine games with Detroit and has been held scoreless.

Whistle signs with Nottingham 

Jackson Whistle (141 GP with the Vancouver Giants and Kelowna Rockets) has signed with the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL. Whistle played 50 games for the Sheffield Steelers of the EIHL last season posting a 3.20 GAA and .898 Save Percentage.
