Winterhawks’ Brondberg to represent Denmark at World Juniors

Portland Winterhawks defenseman Jonas Brondberg will join Denmark for their selection camp ahead of the 2020 World Juniors. Our Josh Critzer has the full story here.

Kodak joins BCHL’s Warriors

Holden Kodak (64 GP, 3 G, 7 A with the Kootenay/Winnipeg ICE and Prince George Cougars) has joined the BCHL’s West Kelowna Warriors after being released by Prince George. Kodak was dealt to Prince George earlier this season from Winnipeg and played seven games with no points before being released.

Schmiemann misses game with an illness 

Brandon Wheat Kings defenseman Dominic Schmiemann was held out of Friday’s game against the Winnipeg ICE due to illness.

Fromm-Delorme and Newkirk return to Winterhawks lineup

Nine days after suffering a pretty scary cut to the arm, Portland Winterhawks forward Reece Newkirk was back in the lineup on Friday night against Kamloops. Robbie Fromm-Delorme also returned from injury having been out since November 8th against Vancouver.

Sockeyes acquire Euerby 

The Richmond Sockeyes of the PJHL have acquired goaltender Braedy Euerby from the Delta Ice Hawks. Drafted by the WHL’s Vancouver Giants in the fifth round of the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft, Euerby has split this year between the Ice Hawks and BCHL’s Powell River Kings.

Peters resigns from Flames

Former Spokane Chiefs head coach Bill Peters resigned from his position as head coach of the NHL’s Calgary Flames amid a number of allegations raised against him by former players.

Gregor scores first NHL Goal

Noah Gregor (257 GP, 129 G, 164 A with the Moose Jaw Warriors, Victoria Royals and Prince Albert Raiders from 2014-19) scored his first NHL goal on Friday in his 11th NHL game.

Outhouse starts first AHL game and wins

Griffen Outhouse (196 GP with the Victoria Royals from 2015-19) recorded his first AHL win on Friday night in his first AHL start.

Jacobs headed to Slovakia

Colin Jacobs (252 GP, 69 G, 73 A with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Prince George Cougars) has signed in Slovakia with HK Poprad. He started the year with the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies and had one goal in five games.
