With a 5-3 win over the Victoria Royals, the Kamloops Blazers have clinched a spot in this year’s WHL playoffs. They are the first team in the BC Division to do so.

- Vancouver’s Milos Roman notched his first WHL hat-trick.
- Victoria’s Cage Newans was awarded an assist on a goal from Carson Miller from Friday night, which happens to be his first WHL point.

Evander Kane (134 GP, 73 G, 65 A with the Vancouver Giants from 2006-09) has been suspended three games in the NHL for a hit on Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk.

Branden Troock (144 GP, 45 G, 56 A with the Seattle Thunderbirds from 2009-14) has signed a professional try-out with the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters. In 23 games split between the Toledo Walleye and South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, Troock has 11 goals and 12 assists this season.
Maschmeyer back playing hockey
Bronson Maschmeyer (Vancouver, Kamloops, 2007-2012) signed contract for rest of this season with Heilbronner Falken (Germany, DEL2). Did not play last season. In 2017-2018 with Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven (Germany, DEL) 52 GP, 1+2.

Bronson Maschmeyer (264 GP, 32 G, 92 A with the Vancouver Giants and Kamloops Blazers from 2007-12) has signed with Heilbronner Falken for the rest of this season after taking last season off. In 2017-18 he played for Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven in Germany scoring a goal and adding two assists in 52 games.
Busenius signs new deal in Hungary
Dylan Busenius (Medicine Hat, Prince Albert, Saskatoon, 2008-2014) signed contract for rest of this season with MAC Újbuda Budapest (Hungary, Slovakia Extraliga) after receiving his release from Fehérvár AV19 Székesfehérvár (Hungary, Erste Bank Liga). 43 GP, 1+7.

Dylan Busenius (316 GP, 25 G, 88 A with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Prince Albert Raiders and Saskatoon Blades from 2008-14) has signed with MAC Ujbuda Budapest in Hungary for the rest of this year. He was released by Fehervar AV19 Szekesfehervar after 43 games in which he had a goal and seven assists.
