Tigers acquire McNabb from Blades

The Medicine Hat Tigers have acquired forward Cyle McNabb from the Saskatoon Blades for a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft. McNabb is onto his fourth WHL team in his career and has 10 goals and 15 assists in 137 WHL games.

Barlage, Franklin named to CHL Team of the Week

Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Logan Barlage and Kamloops Blazers forward Zane Franklin have been named to the “CHL Team of the Week”. Barlage was named the WHL Player of the Week after posting three goals and six assists in three games while Franklin recorded five goals and two assists in three games.

Chiefs release “OK Boomer” T-Shirts

You may have seen the phrase “OK Boomer” being used more lately by “Millenials” towards the older generation. The Spokane Chiefs are capitalizing on the phrase’s popularity by releasing a t-shirt that features their mascot “Boomer” holding a sign that reads “ok”.

Raiders sending fan bus to Moose Jaw

If you’re a fan of the Prince Albert Raiders looking to head out on a road trip with the team, you’re in luck as the team is organizing a fan bus for December 7th’s match-up against the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Former Chiefs head coach being investigated for alleged racist incident 

Former Spokane Chiefs head coach Bill Peters is being investigated for an alleged racist incident that took place while he was the head coach of the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs involving former player Akim Aliu. Two players on that team also corroborated the story. Also, there is an allegation of a physical incident involving Michal Jordan who played for Peters when he coached the Carolina Hurricanes. We should note that none of the players Peters coached with the Chiefs from 1996-2008 have come out with any statements on other potential incidents.

Laxdal coaches 400th game with Texas Stars

Derek Laxdal (238 GP, 131 G, 111 A with the Portland Winterhawks, Brandon Wheat Kings and New Westminster Bruins from 1982-1986) coached in his 400th game with the AHL’s Texas Stars on Tuesday night. Drafted in the eighth round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Laxdal went on to play 13 seasons of professional hockey before retiring in 2001. Laxdal returned to the WHL as head coach of the Edmonton Oil Kings in 2010, a position he held for four seasons before he was scooped up by the Stars.

Bahensky signs in Poland

Zdenek Bahensky (131 GP, 33 G, 53 A with the Saskatoon Blades from 2004-06) has signed with Cracovia Krakow in Poland for the remainder of the season. The former third-round pick of the New York Rangers has already played one game for them and has one assist.

Kristek released by French club

Jaroslav Kristek (115 GP, 64 GP, 73 A with the Tri-City Americans from 1998-2000) has been released by French club Courchevel-Meribel-Pralognan. The former second-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres picked up three goals and five assists in five games.
