The Saskatoon Blades and Victoria Royals connected on a pair of trades on Wednesday. The first trade was a significant one as the Blades acquired overage defenseman Scott Walford, a 2020 seventh-round pick and a conditional pick from the Royals for overage forward Gary Haden, unsigned 2002-born forward Riley Gannon, a fourth-round pick in 2022 and a conditional pick.

In the second trade of the day, the Royals sent 2001-born defenseman Parker Malchuk for conditional draft pick compensation. If you’re a regular reader of the Daily Dose, then you knew this move was likely coming in the not-too-distant future as Inaki Baragano had been listed on the Kamloops Blazers training camp roster without an official signing announcement. The Blazers officially made their 2019 CHL Import Pick a member of the organization, signing Baragano to a WHL Player Agreement on Wednesday. Last season, the Swiss defenseman played 53 games in Switzerland tallying six goals and 17 assists.
Giants add Chyzowski to the coaching staff
The Vancouver Giants are pleased to announce that Dave Chyzowski has been added to their coaching staff ahead of the 2019-20 season.

The Vancouver Giants have added Dave Chyzowski (138 GP, 77 G, 67 A with the Kamloops Blazers) to the team’s coaching staff. After an 18-year pro career, which included stops with the New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks, Chyzowski retired after the 2006-07 season. He re-joined the Blazers in a front-office role where he would spend 14 seasons, mostly as the Director of Sales of Marketing, before resigning this summer to take on a role with Delta Hockey Academy. He will stay on with Delta Hockey Academy as the Female Prep Team’s Head Coach and Director of Sales in addition to his duties with the Giants.

The Prince Albert Raiders have announced their training camp schedule which will kick off on August 30th. The camp will conclude on September 2nd with the annual Green vs. White game.
Texeira signs with Fuel

Keoni Texeira (344 GP, 39 G, 104 A with the Portland Winterhawks) has signed with the ECHL’s Indy Fuel for the 2019-20 season. In his rookie pro season, Texeira played with the ECHL’s Wichita Thunder, playing in 70 games with seven goals and 39 assists.
