Daily Dose of the Dub: Beckman leads Chiefs to big win; Anderson-Dolan still with Canada

Anderson-Dolan might be healthy enough to play at World Juniors

Three stars of the night:

  1. Adam Beckman (Spokane) – Two goals and two assists for the 17-year-old rookie in the Chiefs 6-5 overtime win over the Seattle Thunderbirds.
  2. Riley Sawchuk (Tri-City) – Two goals and two assists as he led his Americans over the Portland Winterhawks in overtime for the second night in-a-row. This time it was 4-3.
  3. Eli Zummack (Spokane) – He netted the OT winner in the Chiefs win and added two assists.

Honorable mentions:

Jordy Bellerive had two goals and an assist, leading the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 6-4 win over the Calgary Hitmen. He now has five goals and three assists for eight points in his last four games… 15-year-old rookie Dylan Guenther had two goals and Brett Kemp had two goals and an assist as the Edmonton Oil Kings soared past the Kootenay ICE 7-4… David Tendeck turned away 30-of-31 shots and the Vancouver Giants slipped by the Prince George Cougars 2-1… With a goal and two assists in the Portland loss, Joachim Blichfeld leads the WHL in scoring now with 65 points.

Troubling moment:

-Spokane defenseman Bobby Russell was handed a five-minute major for cross-checking and a game misconduct. The hit happened in behind the play in retaliation for a legal check Tyler Carpendale had just laid on him.

As the play had already gone the other way, there was no video on the feed made available online.
