The WHL has handed out a suspension to Kamloops Blazers forward Ryley Appelt for an undetermined length. That means he’ll be ineligible to play in Monday’s rematch with Victoria.

Kelowna Rockets forward Nolan Foote has been traded in the NHL from the Tampa Bay Lightning along with a conditional first-round pick to the New Jersey Devils for forward Blake Coleman. Foote has been limited to 26 games this season due to injury and the World Junior Hockey Championship. When he has been in the lineup, he’s been over a point-per-game player with 15 goals and 18 assists. He also recently traveled to Tampa Bay to be evaluated as part of his recovery from an injury.

With his second career point in seven games with the Portland Winterhawks, Dante Giannuzzi is now tied for 54th place in points per game by a WHL rookie. This is notable of course because Giannuzzi is a netminder.
It is believed he may be credited with a second assist which makes it all the more incredible.

After being released from the Nottingham Panthers in England due to uncertainty over his employment status in the UK, Brett Bulmer (178 GP, 65 G, 86 A with the Kelowna Rockets from 2008-12) has signed with Freiburg in Germany for the rest of this season. In 32 games with Nottingham, he put up eight goals and 13 assists.
