Americans sign 2002-born Landon Roberts

The Tri-City Americans have signed 2017 sixth-round pick Landon Roberts to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. The 2002-born forward is a native of Souris, Manitoba and has been playing with the Southwest Cougars at the bantam and midget levels for the last four seasons. The forward, who stands at six-foot-three and weighs in at 200 pounds should compete for a spot with the Americans this season after recording 13 goals and seven assists in 46 games in Midget last season. If he doesn’t make it with the Americans, he could report to the MJHL’s Steinbach Pistons who own his rights after selecting him in the first round of the 2017 MJHL Draft.

Broncos release training camp rosters

The Swift Current Broncos have released their training camp roster as they get set to kick off camp on Monday. Things worth noting include:

  • As previously mentioned, 1999-born forward Ian Briscoe is not attending camp. Neither is 2000-born Tyler Lees, 2002-born Sam Schofield 
  • 2018 third-round pick Finlay Williams, seventh-round pick Blake Heward, 10th round pick Cameron Emigh, and11th round pick Ashton Billesberger are missing from the roster
  • All 2019 WHL Bantam Draft Picks are attending camp.

Royals release rookie camp rosters

The Victoria Royals released their rookie camp rosters to the media on Sunday. Only 10th round pick Charlie Stramel is missing among their 2019 Bantam Draft picks while 2018 third-round pick eighth-round picks Karsten Senden and Roux Bazin, ninth-round pick Graeme Hampton, 10th round pick Ross Roloson are also missing from the roster
