Troy Rutkowski (351GP, 61G, 155A with Portland ’08-’13) has signed with EC Kassel Huskies of the DEL2, Germany’s second-tier professional league. Last year, his second with EHC Linz of the EBEL, Rutkowski scored one goal and added 15 assists in 48 games. It was his fourth season of professional hockey overseas. Rutkowski was a 2010 fifth-round draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche. He was an Ed Chynoweth Cup Champion with the Winterhawks in 2012-13.
MacKenzie signs with Dornbiner HC

Matt MacKenzie (225GP, 18G, 79A with Calgary and Tri-City ’07-’11) has signed with Dornbiner HC of IceHL, Austria’s top professional league. MacKenzie is a former third-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres, in 2010 and he spent seven seasons between the AHL and ECHL before heading overseas. Last season with Tolzer Lowen of DEL2, Mackenzie scored eight goals and added 51 assists in 52 games. He is an Ed Chynoweth Champion with the 09-10 Calgary Hitmen.

Phillip Schultz (106GP, 35G, 27A with Victoria) has signed a contract with Rodovre Mighty Bulls of Denmark’s top professional league. The team also announced that should the Royals season get underway, Schultz is able to return to Victoria.

Chase Bertholet (9GP, 0G, 1A with Winnipeg) has signed with the SJHL’s Melville Millionaires. Originally a 2018 fifth-round selection of the Red Deer Rebels, his rights were traded to Winnipeg on December 1, 2018, before he suited up in Red Deer.

Ethan Price (245GP, 27G, 34A with Portland and Victoria) has committed to the MacEwan Griffins of the ACAC. The Lincoln, NE, USA product gave Brock University a 28 game season in 2018-19 and scored five goals to go with six assists. Last season, Price suited up with the Stony Plain Eagles of Allan Cup West Hockey, a Senior AAA loop in Alberta. He had six goals and five assists in seven games.
