Canada Winter Games
Day 6 (Semi-Finals): The two remaining Western Canadian teams were eliminated in their semi-final matchups on Thursday. Alberta was eliminated by Ontario by a score of 8-4 and Saskatchewan was doubled up 6-3 by Quebec and will face off in the Bronze Medal Game on Friday.

- Medicine Hat Tigers prospect Cole Sillinger had a goal and an assist.

Wheat Kings defenceman retires
Just spoke with Shaun Clouston, who confirmed Tigers defenceman Joel Craven is calling it a career. The 18-year-old Whitefish, Mont. product suffered numerous injuries in his 65-game #medhat career, including handful of concussions. Agyeman will stay with the team for the season

Medicine Hat Tigers defenceman Joel Craven has decided to retire from hockey as a result of numerous injuries in his young career. The 18-year-old spent parts of two seasons with the Tigers, recording 11 points (4G, 7A) in 65 WHL games. This comes after he suffered a season ending upper body injury and multiple other injuries, skating in less than one season’s worth of games in two seasons.
Mattheos moves up franchise list

Brandon Wheat Kings captain Stelios Mattheos moved up to 25th on the all-time franchise scoring list with a four point night on Wednesday, giving him 270 career points (122G, 148A) in 242 games with Brandon. The former first overall bantam pick needs just two points to take sole possession of 24th on the list of the storied franchise.
White gets 100th point
Kootenay ICE overage forward Jaeger White notched his 100th WHL point with a goal in yesterday’s loss to Regina. The Medicine Hat native is a veteran of 208 games with 39 goals and 61 assists in an injury-rittled junior career, having only appeared two AJHL games the entire 2016/17 season. He has 46 points (24G, 22A) in 56 games this season.

Regina Pats Head Trainer Greg Mayer was awarded the WHL Milestone Award for his 22 years of hard work since coming to the WHL. He has spent time between Moose Jaw and Regina since 1997 with two trips to the World Juniors as well (’01 and ’10).
