Jones joins Bruins on loan

Nolan Jones (114GP, 3G, 20A with Lethbridge, Victoria, and Moose Jaw) has been loaned to the Estevan Bruins (SJHL). The 6-foot-2 Moose Jaw, SK native is expected to be in camp with Moose Jaw following Christmas.

Gagnon calls it a career

After just nine games of the 2020-21 season with Modo Hockey in Sweden, Aaron Gagnon (318GP, 123G, 121A with Seattle ’02-’07) has called it a career and retired from hockey. The former Thunderbird was selected in the eighth-round of the 2004 NHL Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes. Gagnon went on to play in parts of four seasons in the NHL with Dallas and Winnipeg. Following five seasons in North American professional hockey, Gagnon spent seven seasons split between the SHL, Liiga, and NL (Switzerland).

Rutherford and Les Diables Rouges part ways

David Rutherford (163GP, 57G, 54A with Vancouver and Spokane ’04-’08) has been terminated from his contract by Les Diables Rouges Hockey Briancon. It was his first season with the French team. Rutherford was a two-time Ed Chynoweth Cup winner and also won the Memorial Cup with the Chiefs in 2007-08. He has since gone on to win an EIHL Cup, a CHL Cup, and the Kelly (ECHL) Cup.
