Minten scores first WHL goal

Kamloops Blazers 2004-born forward Fraser Minten scored his first WHL goal at 16:25 of the third period in last night’s 3-2 win over the Victoria Royals. Minten’s goal came on the power play and proved to the game-winning goal. The Blazers selected Minten in the fourth round of the 2019 WHL Draft.

Whynott scores first WHL goal

Calgary Hitmen 2004-born forward Brandon Whynott scored his first WHL goal at 19:03 of the second period to give the Hitmen a 5-3 lead. The team went on to win 6-3. Whynott was selected in the second round of the 2019 WHL Draft by the Hitmen, he was playing in his 14th WHL game.

Ferraro earns extension, Kohler released

Forward Landon Ferraro (220GP, 76G, 76A with Red Deer ’06-’10) has signed an extension to remain with Kolner Haie of the DEL. In 2020-21, Ferraro split the season between the DEL2’s Lowen Frankfurt (9GP, 0G, 5A) and Kolner Haie (27GP, 10G, 1A). The Detroit Red Wings selected Ferraro in the second round of the 2009 NHL Draft. He has 77 games of NHL experience as well as 354 games of AHL experience.

Forward / Defenseman Mick Kohler (4GP, 0G, 1A with Medicine Hat ’17-’18) has not had his contract renewed by Kolner Haie. Kohler split the season between EC Bad Nauheim (DEL2, 9GP, 0G, 1A) and Kolner Haie (DEL, 22GP, 0G, 0A). Was selected 59th overall at the 2017 CHL Import Draft by the Tigers.
