Playoff History: Medicine Hat Tigers vs. Brandon Wheat Kings

2017 Medicine Hat won 4-0 1st Round, As expected this series wasn’t even close from start to finish. The Tigers finished in first in the Central Division and 31 points higher than the Wheat Kings in the overall standings. Medicine Hat out scored the Nolan Patrick-less Brandon Wheat Kings 21-9. Game four was the closest, a one goal win for the Tigers, defenseman David Quenneville had two goals including the series clinching goal. Brandon had to play it’s first round games in Dauphin, Manitoba. Medicine Hat push the Lethbridge Hurricanes to the limit in the second round but fall 4-to-3.

2011 Medicine Hat won 4-2 1st Round, Medicine Hat had 27 more points than the Wheat Kings in the regular season. 60 goals were scored in what seemed like a defenseless battle. Emerson Etem would score the eventual game winner in Winnipeg at the MTS Centre. The Tigers would bow out in four to the Kootenay Ice in the East Conference final.

2009 Brandon won 4-0 2nd Round, Brandon had 22 more regular season points than Medicine Hat did. The Wheat Kings would outscore the Tigers 26-12 in their second round series. This series was played in Brandon at Westman Place. Colby Robak would score his third goal of the playoffs and clinch the series for the Wheat Kings.They would go on to lose in four straight to the Calgary Hitmen in the East Conference Final.

2004 Medicine Hat won 4-1 2nd Round (The Tigers would go on to be the Memorial Cup representatives from the WHL), 1993 Medicine Hat won 3-1 1st Round, 1980 they played in the 2nd Round Robin
