Rebels release Paradis
The Rebels have released 20-year old defenceman Colin Paradis. The team is down to 3, 20-year old players. Jeff de Wit, Brandon Hagel, and Reese Johnson are the team's 20's.

The Red Deer Rebels trimmed their roster on the weekend, parting ways with 20-year old d-man Colin Paradis. The veteran blue liner notched 14 points in 66 games last year between Moose Jaw and Red Deer, and will look to latch on elsewhere.
WHL dishes out suspensions to Butt, Heathcote
The WHL announced suspensions for a pair of incidents that happened during the season openers on Friday, September 21. Everett forward Dawson Butt was given three games for a check to the head, and Medicine Hat forward Dawson Heathcote was handed one game for a one-man fight. Check out both incidents below.

Habs send pair of defensemen back to WHL clubs
The #Habs announced earlier the following cuts that have been assigned back to their junior clubs: Joël Teasdale (@ArmadaBLB), Josh Brook (@MJWARRIORS) and Scott Walford (@victoriaroyals).

The Montreal Canadiens made more cuts on the weekend, sending defensemen Josh Brook (Moose Jaw) and Scott Walford (Victoria) back to the WHL. The 1999-born Walford is dealing with an upper-body injury, but should return to the lineup in the coming days.

The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Jake McGrew to an entry-level contract, and subsequently returned him to the Spokane Chiefs. The 2017 sixth-rounder registered 19 goals and 19 assists over 65 games in his rookie 2017-18 season.

The second WHL player picked in the 2018 NHL Draft signed an NHL entry-level contract. Red Deer Rebels defenseman Alexander Alexeyev was taken wit the 31st pick in the draft. Alexeyev, who has battled absences due to a death in the family and injuries has had a strong start to the 2018-19 WHL season with two goals in his first two games.

The Brandon Wheat Kings have come to terms with 2002-born goalie Connor Ungar. The Calgary native posted an impressive 1.76 GAA and .918 save percentage over 18 games with the Northern Alberta Elite 15s in 2017-18.
