Nassen and MacPherson head back to Medicine Hat
BREAKING: D Linus Nassen and D Dylan MacPherson are rejoining the @tigershockey.
— Mitch Bach (@CHATTVMitchBach) October 1, 2018
The Medicine Hat Tigers got a huge boost to their blue line on Monday, when it was announced that 1998-born d-men Linus Nassen and Dylan MacPherson are rejoining the team. The pair combined for 48 points last season.
Having the duo back means that the Tigers will have to make a cut to their overage ranks with fellow defenseman Dalton Gally and forward Ryan Jevne as the other two 1998-born players on the roster.
With goalie Mads Sogaard the only other import in camp, adding the Swedish-born Nassen does not mean the Tigers have to shed a player drafted out of Europe.

The Saskatoon Blades have parted ways with overage forward Brad Goethals, after he reportedly asked for his release. Goethals managed 15 goals and 17 assists last season, and potted a goal over three games this year. The move will open up a 20-year-old spot for the Blades.
Goethals is the third 1998-born Blades forward to leave the team after Gage Ramsay and Caleb Fantillo did so earlier this summer.
Goethals’ departure means the Blades have only two overage players in forward Max Gerlach and defenseman Dawson Davidson. They now have room for one more overage player.
