Calgary Hitmen

Last Week – 1-2-0-0. A 3 game road trip started with an 8-2 loss in Kelowna, followed by a come from behind 4-3 overtime win in Vancouver and then headed to the island and dropped a 4-1 decision in Victoria. 7 of their last 15 games have gone to overtime and none have gone to a shootout. Goalie Kyle Dumba played 74 minutes on the weekend and gave up just 1 goal for a 0.81 goals-against-average and a .962 save percentage.

WHL Player of the Month Matteo Gennaro had 2 goals and 1 assist last week while Beck Malenstyn had 4 points with 1 goal and 3 assists.

This Week – Back to Calgary for a 3 game home stand with tough tests against Regina, Medicine Hat and Swift Current. Then will visit Edmonton for their 4th game in 5 nights.

Playoff Position – 1 point behind Saskatoon for the final Wild Card spot and have 1 game in hand. The Blades have to visit Calgary 2 more times this season.

Edmonton Oil Kings

Last Week – 0-3-0-0. It is now 14 regulation losses in a row for the Oil Kings after losing 4-1 in Swift Current, 6-3 in Brandon and 7-1 in Regina. Their last win was on New Years’ Day.

Davis Koch, who is averaging just over a point per game with 54 points in 53 GP, had 3 points in the 3 games with 2 goals and 1 assist.

This Week – Will start a 4-game home stand with Swift Current, Regina and Calgary visiting Rogers Place.

Playoff Position – 8 points behind Saskatoon for the final Wild Card spot but also have Calgary ahead of them in the standings.

Last Week – 0-3-0-0. Were swept in a home-and-home with Medicine Hat by scores of 4-3 and 6-2 then it was a 6-2 loss to Moose Jaw.

Linemates Brett Davis (3 goals 1 assists) and Vince Loschiaco (1 goal 3 assists) combined for 8 points.

This Week – Will host Prince Albert and Lethbridge on the weekend at Western Financial Place.

Playoff Position – 16 points out of the final Wild Card spot. 1 point ahead of Prince Albert for last in the league.

Lethbridge Hurricanes

Last Week – 3-0-0-0. Winning streak is now at 7 games with a 4-3 shootout win against Brandon, 3-2 overtime win in Red Deer and 3-0 over Moose Jaw. They are 11-0-1-1 in the last 13 games.

Goalie Stuart Skinner gave up 2 goals against in his 2 starts with a .970 save percentage and earned his 2nd shutout of the season. Tyler Wong scored his 36th, 37 & 38th goals of the season, Egor Babenko (2 goals 2 assists), Brennan Menell (1 goal 3 assists), Giorgio Estephan (2 goals 2 assists) all had 4 point weeks.

This Week – It’ll be 4 games in 4 nights with some travel. They visit Red Deer, return home to entertain Prince Albert, travel east to Medicine Hat and then west to Kootenay.

Playoff Position – 2nd in the Division, 6 points behind the Tigers with 1 game in hand.

Last Week – 3-1-0-0. After sweeping a home and home with Kootenay on scores of 4-3 and 6-2, they lost 5-3 in Spokane and won 6-5 in Tri City.

Another week another 19 goals scored, led by Matt Bradley (4 goals 3 assists), Mason Shaw (2 goals 5 assists), Matt Gerlach (3 goals 2 assists) and James Hamblin (3 goals 2 assists).

This Week – Will host Prince Albert, travel to Calgary and then back home to host Lethbridge.

Playoff Position – 1st in the Division, 6 points ahead of Lethbridge.

Red Deer Rebels

Last Week – 1-1-1-0. After losing 3-2 in overtime to Lethbridge they traveled to Prince Albert and beat the Raiders 6-3 and then lost 4-2 in Saskatoon.

Michael Spacek once again was all over the scoresheet with 2 goals and 3 assists. Evan Polei scored his 23rd, 24th & 25th markers of the season.

This Week – Back home for 3 games with Lethbridge, Swift Current and Regina being entertained at the Enmax Centrium.

Playoff Position – 3rd in the Division, 7 points ahead of Calgary and 15 behind Lethbridge.
