Giants acquire Horning from Swift Current

For the second time this season, the Swift Current Broncos and the Vancouver Giants have swung a deal.

Coming to Vancouver is ’01 defenceman Connor Horning while ’00 Kaleb Bulych heads the other way.

Horning was originally drafted by the Broncos in the third round 61st overall in 2016 and was a part of the 2018 WHL championship team as a rookie.

The 6’3 right-handed shot has dressed in 139 WHL games, all in Swift Current, amassing 41 points, with 31 of them coming last season during a struggling year for the Broncos.

Bulych, on the other hand, will have an opportunity for a bigger role on the backend as well as a chance to play with his younger brother, Aiden.

The Giants selected Bulych originally in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft 27th overall in the second round and dressed in 172 games with the club and was a big part of the depth of last year’s team that made a run to the WHL Final.

Horning is expected to arrive in town tomorrow.
