The Victoria Royals made their sixth deal since the WHL bantam draft, sending Detroit Red Wings prospect Lane Zablocki to the Kelowna Rockets in exchange for a 2021 fourth round draft pick and a conditional 2019 seventh round draft pick. For Zablocki, it will be his fifth WHL team, having previously played for the Regina Pats, Red Deer Rebels, Lethbridge Hurricanes and of course the Victoria Royals. He was originally drafted by the Prince George Cougars in 2013 but did not suit up for the team. The 6-foot, 182 pound forward was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings 79th overall in 2017.

Sutter was selected in the third round, 93rd overall at the 2018 NHL draft. He has spent his entire WHL career with the Everett Silvertips after being drafted in the sixth round back in 2014. Sutter has scored 46 goals and added 52 assists in 169 WHL games. Sutter was returned to the Silvertips before the start of the 2018-19 regular season and has two goals and three assists in four games.
