Toigo to receive W.A.C. Bennett Award

Vancouver Giants president, governor and owner Ron Toigo will be inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame in May 2019, receiving the W.A.C. Bennett Award. Notable previous winners include Arthur Griffiths (2016), Pat Quinn (2013), Nat Bailey (2013) and Terry Fox (1980).

The 2019 World Junior Championship will feature 12 pre-tournament games, beginning on Dec. 18, and taking place in nine different B.C. cities. Four of the cities are home to WHL teams in Langley, Victoria, Kelowna and Kamloops.
Three Stars of the Night:
- Ian Scott (Prince Albert) – Continued his elite play with 43-save shutout to help league-best Raiders blank Tigers 2-0; improve to 18-1-0.
- Beck Warm (Tri-City) – Rebounded from Tuesday’s rough outing with 24-save shutout in the Americans 3-0 over the Broncos.
- Josh Maser (Prince George) – Finished his night with game-winning goal and two assists. His goal came with six seconds remaining in 4-3 overtime victory over Kelowna.
Honorable Mentions:
Everett forward Connor Dewar opened the scoring early in the first period and scored again in the first round of the shootout… Everett goalie Dustin Wolf turned aside 39-of-41 shots and 2-of-3 in the shootout for the 3-2 win over Portland.
