Christmas Wish List

Below is a satirical look at the Christmas Wish for each of the 22 WHL teams.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the fans, the office staff, the hockey staff and most of all the players of the Western Hockey League.

Brandon Wheat Kings – More of the same, making something out of not much from GM Armstrong and Head Coach Anning.

Calgary Hitmen – An excellent return for Jake Bean.

Edmonton Oil Kings – A changing of the guard.

Everett Silvertips – A healthy Carter Hart after the World Junior Championships.

Kamloops Blazers – A playoff push despite the early rough start.

Kelowna Rockets – Something to excite the crowds at Prospera Place.

Kootenay Ice – Continued improvement on and off the ice.

Lethbridge Hurricanes – A playoff round or two to pad the bank account.

Medicine Hat Tigers – A return to being the “dominant” Central division team.

Moose Jaw Warriors – A deep playoff run.

Portland Winterhawks – More magic from MJ.

Prince Albert Raiders – An exit from obscurity.

Prince George Cougars – Fans in the building without having to giveaway a car or have a $50,000 50/50 start.

Red Deer Rebels – Living up to expectations with a few wins.

Regina Pats – Jake Bean, Carter Hart, Tyler Benson.. The shopping list is long for this team.

Saskatoon Blades – What this franchise really wants is a birth in the playoffs to bring back the fans.

Seattle Thunderbirds – Tanking the rest of the way and getting the first overall pick.

Spokane Chiefs – Remaining a quiet team to beat.

Swift Current Broncos – A winning ticket in the available defensemen lottery.

Tri-City Americans –  a healthy Rasmussen and Valimaki for the duration should be Tri wish

Vancouver Giants – perhaps a handsome return for Tyler Benson.

Victoria Royals – to reignite the powerplay and make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs.
