Zamula and Oksanen sign on to join Memorial Cup hosts

Today it was announced that both Egor Zamula and Emil Oksanen have signed with the Regina Pats’ hockey club. The Pats had lost both Filip Ahl and Sergei Zborovskiy to the pro ranks following their run to the WHL Championship finals last year.

Egor Zamula was drafted 60th overall in the first round of the 2017 CHL Import Draft. Zamula hails from Chelyabinsk, Russia and played last season with Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Russian U17 league. He scored three goals and added 23 assists in 36 games. The defenseman is a 2000 born player, making him eligible for the 2018 NHL Entry draft.

Emil Oksanen was drafted with the Pats’ second selection in the 2017 CHL Import Draft at 120th overall. Oksanen was born in Kirkkonummi, Finland and is a late-1998 born player. He will turn 19 on September 25th. Last season Oksanen played for Espoo United in the Mestis league, which is Finland’s second level men’s hockey league. Oksanen had 13 goals and six assists in 48 games. He also participated in the U20 World Junior Championships, producing three goals and four assists in seven games over the tournament.
