With the 2016–17 bantam hockey season underway, our head bantam scout Brayden Sullivan outlines some of the more notable players to watch as we begin the scouting season. The AMBHL took a big hit this year, losing key players in Kaiden Guhle and Kyle Crnkovic to the CSSHL, however they still have some big name players including Ozzy Wiesblatt, Logan Dowhaniuk, and Jacob Bodnaruk. One of the big story lines coming out of the north is the duo of Raphael Pelletier and Alex Thacker of Fort Saskatchewan, who have already shown signs of being an elite tandem. The CSSHL is chock full of future WHL players, but most eyes are following Manitoba forward Seth Jarvis, who is considered the likely first overall pick come draft time next May. After graduating players such as Boston Bilous and Lukas Svejkovsky, some of Delta’s young stars will look to take over and boost their draft stock. Some of the returning players include Brandon Santa Juana and Trevor Thurston.
