Playoff History: Victoria Royals vs. Vancouver Giants

First ever playoff meeting,

Going back to the original franchise, the Chilliwack Bruins, there is some playoff history there.

2008 Vancouver won 4-0 1st Round, the Giants would claim a 41 point lead on the Bruins during the regular season. All four games would be settled by a single point. The Giants would need triple overtime to take a three games to zero lead. In game four Casey Pierro-Zabotel broke a 1-1 tie with 7:13 to play in the third period to take the series. The Giants would go on to lose in the second round to the Spokane Chiefs 4-2

2007 Vancouver won 4-1 1st Round, a 43 point differential for the Giants in the regular season. Kenndal McArdle would be the hero for the Giants in this series. He scored the series clinching goal late in the first period. Spencer Machacek would add an insurance goal to ensure the series win. The Giants were hosting the Memorial Cup in 2007 and would make it to the WHL finals before bowing out in seven games to Medicine Hat. They would go on to exact revenge on the Tigers in the Memorial Cup by beating them in the final.
